Barclays Wealth Opens For Business In Washington

Barclays Wealth, part of the UK banking group Barclays, has expanded its North American presence with a new office in Washington D.C.

The Washington office will serve the bank’s clients in the mid-Atlantic region, offering investment advice, asset allocation, tax planning and cash management services.

The Washington operation will join the bank’s other US offices in Palm Beach, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and San Francisco. The Washington, Palm Beach and Philadelphia offices come under the responsibility of  Scott Sheffer, regional manager for Barclays Wealth in the Americas.

"It's important for Barclays Wealth to be on the ground and close to our clients in order to best serve them. Moreover, the D.C.-metro area has one of the fastest growing populations of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals in the country," said Mr Sheffer.
